Finding a good butcher in Singapore can be pretty hard, but Huber’s Butchery comes pretty high on the list. We get a lot of our meaty supplies from here and highly recommend it, especially for speciality cuts. You can also try before you buy in the bistro they have next door, which also serves excellent German beer!
Huber’s Butchery Bistro is bright and airy and feels like an American diner with lots of chrome and red seats. The service is friendly and fast which is perfect for a quick bite to eat on the weekend before you do your shop.
They serve a great selection of German beer, perfect to accompany your plate of meat! In the butchery, they sell bottles of the same beer, so we also bought a couple to take home.
The menu is European with strong influences from France, Germany, and Italy. We ordered the charcuterie ($14.80) that came with Parma ham, salami, and mortadella. We used to eat this sort of food all the time when we lived in the UK, but in Singapore, it’s a real treat to get good-quality cured meats. The quality was excellent, similar to back home. We also tried one of their specials, Tartiflette, which is a dish from the French Alps of potatoes, cheese, bacon and onion – what’s not to like?! This went really well with the cold meats and was proper comfort food.
We didn’t try much of the menu, but what we did try was really top quality and was perfectly washed down with a pint of German beer. This a great place to grab a bit to eat on the weekend with friends. It’s one of our favourite places to get our meat fix, and we will definitely be back to try more.
